About Us

Gymnastics East has been training gymnasts and offering fun fitness classes since 1979. It is owned and operated by Kim Thomson and Roberta Diles. Kim was a member of our early team then returned to coach. She bought the gym with Roberta in Y2000. Roberta, an elementary school teacher and personal trainer, has directed the class program since 1988. Together they continue to share their joy for the sport and believe that participation in gymnastics from an early age sets the base to succeed in any sport.

Our competitive team continues to be one of the top ranked teams in our State and Region with a focus on achieving college scholarships for our graduating seniors.

Competitive Gymnastics

Our Competitive team continually wins state, regional and national awards. We are also proud to have helped numerous gymnasts sign collegiate scholarships. Gymnastics East currently has competitive teams at the Compulsory, Optional and Xcel levels.

2019-2020 School Year Class Schedules

Available July 15th.
Click here to view or download and print a class schedule and the list of coaches for each class.  The coaches are subject to change.
The list of coaches for each class are also posted at each gym office.

Class Schedules are available to take home at each gym lobby.

August 5th – Priority Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year Session; 8:00am and online only for the first two days. (must have registered for a summer camp or class by midnight June 30th to qualify for priority registration.)
August 12th – Open Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year Session; 8:00am and online only for the first two days.

Flying Ninjas Summer Camps – FULL

Mon, July 15th—Wed, July 17th from 2pm—5pm at our Issaquah Team Gym &
Mon, July 29th—Wed, July 31st from 2pm—5pm at our Issaquah Team Gym
For ages 6—11 years  (turning 6 by Sept. 1st)

A 3 day camp filled with team building games, Ninja Warrior inspired obstacle courses and fun activities. Running, jumping, rolling, climbing and swinging will all be used to strengthen balance, body awareness and problem solving. Camp includes a bouncy house on Wednesday! Boys and girls of all experience levels welcome.

Registration online or at each gym office.
Camp Cost: $124 + tax
Payment is due at time of registration with $30 of the fee non-refundable.  There are no refunds on cancellations within 30 days of the camp start date.

Bring a healthy snack and water bottle.

Priority Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year.
Students registered for summer classes or a camp by midnight June 30th will have priority registration for our next school year registration.  A family qualifies for this if one child from the family is registered.  Priority Registration will begin August 5th for both gym and will be online only for the first 2 days.

High School Drop In Program

Summer Session Classes begin Monday, July 1st – August 21st and run every Monday and Wednesday from 2:00pm – 4:30pm at our Bellevue Gym.  This program runs on a punch card system which can be purchased at the front desk.  They are $110 for 4 punches and $220 for 8 punches and expire six months from the date of purchase.  An annual registration fee of $60 is also required.  All skill levels are welcome!

Flying Ninja Program

New for our  Summer Class Session and inspired by “American Ninja Warrior” we bring to you our own Ninja program full of obstacle courses to challenge mind and body, teaching students to move through obstacles with fluidity, prowess and stealth using skillful spins, rolls, jumps, and flips.

For boys 1st – 5th grade.  These classes will develop critical thinking, improve strength, coordination and air sense. The ever-changing obstacles and challenges will build self confidence as they learn to accept and master each challenge presented.

  • Flying Ninja 1: 45 minute class learning the above skills.
    Tuesdays 6pm – 6:45pm & 7:00pm – 7:45pm
  • Flying Ninja Level 2: 1 hour classes teaching on-axis and off-axis flipping, spinning and movement on a larger scale.
    Tuesdays 7:00pm – 8:00pm (All students must move through Flying Ninja Level 1 to graduate to the Flying Ninja Level 2 class.)

Dress Code

For Girls:
Either a leotard (no 2-piece leotards allowed) or T-shirts & shorts/leggings.  T-shirt must be snug-fitting or tucked into shorts.
Shorts should be snug-fitting, no zippers, snaps or buttons.  No jewelry with the exception of studded earrings.  If  hair is longer
then shoulder length, please have it up in a ponytail.  All kids are barefoot out on the gym floor.

For Boys:
T-shirt & shorts.  The T-shirt must be snug-fitting or tucked into the shorts  Shorts should be athletic shorts, no sagging, no belts, zippers,
snaps or buttonsAll kids are barefoot out on the gym floor.
